Pittsburgh/Northside loses a Great Historian – Carol Peterson

Architectural historian and author Carol Peterson standing near Sampsonia Way on the Northside.

We are sorry to report the loss of Architectural Historian and our friend Carol Peterson. We received a call on the morning of December 17, 2017 shortly after she passed away. She wrote a book with Dan Rooney called “Allegheny City” and we hosted both of these legendary figures at the ACHG for a book signing. Carol also did a video with us about the architecture of Arch Street. This has been a bad phase for us as we have lost many friends and historical soldiers as of late. Carol Peterson you will be greatly missed. We will continue to carry the torch for you.

Remembering Carol via Gloria Forouzan: Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Spirit Bar in Lawrenceville, 242 51st St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.

Here is a YouTube video featuring Carol Peterson & Bill Gandy discussing the architecture of the Mexican War Streets.  Click on the link below to see the video.
